The awesome flower power of South Africa

To describe the vast and sweeping scenery of lush green mountainsides, grand valley vistas and exquisite ocean views as breathtaking seems utterly inadequate.

This is a landscape like no other I have experienced – diverse in plant species, rich in flora colour, unspoiled yet accessible, and packing a visual punch that is nothing short of jaw-droppingly gorgeous.

I did not expect this. I knew South Africa flora would be impressive, after all, there are more plant species on this tip of Africa than in all of North America and the UK – more than 22,000 species at last count.
